Giant wooden buttons?! Yes, please!
I picked up some unfinished giant wooden buttons from Michael’s (they’re about 2-1/2” across), and challenged myself to finish each one a different way.
The first one is made from sparkly candy-printed card stock (no, they’re not pills), the second is made using a variety of embossing powders, the third is made by layering Washi tape (the blue side is shown unfinished, I forgot to take a photo of it when I was done), and the last one was created using fabric from an old upholstery book.
The pink and green bows are made of vintage seam binding we found at a thrift shop. I love that old stuff. This was such a fun project! More details on my blog: More details on my blog.
Caught On A Whim’s DIY Tape Dispenser Makeover idea was irresistible! The top photo is her adorable version, the second one is Titancia’s and the other is mine (iamdawt).
one mirror, three ways. {side note: crappy pics because i wasn’t going to be in them}
top: fabric covered, with a crepe paper/fabric rosette for my bedroom.
left: wrapped with grey yarn, them embellished with felt flowers. a give-away for my craft group’s meeting this month.
right: that same floral pattern technique as my small canvases.
I do think this may just be the most brilliant use of embroidery hoops ever. Check out Fishsticks Design for this free pattern and a host of other great tutorials!
DIY Yarn Letters | Jen Loves Kev
These are so adorable, and the yarn gives them such a cozy feeling too! Usually buying letters like these would stop you at between $5-$10 each, and up to $30+ if you’re purchasing the word together.
