My best friend’s birthday is coming up, and since we live in different states I couldn’t make her a cake so I settled for a card. I wanted to show you how I used a couple of the crafty surprises from the Christmas Advent Calendar cabinet, the yummy purple velvet ribbon and one of the pretty grey butterfly brads with two purple rhinestones at the center.

I picked up the little 6x6 two-sided paper pack (by Echo Park) specifically for this project; the colors are so pretty, especially the grey and pink. February’s birthstone is amethyst, so I picked up a sheet of shiny embellishments and used them inside the card. Turns out I was quite frugal using only one sheet from the entire package, both sides, which makes it easy to match things up. I’m just happy I crafted!
